Locate Wilson Federal Releases

To find someone released from federal custody serving Wilson County, first determine whether the person reached Bureau of Prisons custody or remained with the U.S. Marshals Service during a federal case. Wilson County lies in the Middle District of Tennessee, but no federal prison is verified inside the county. A BOP release date answers only whether BOP custody ended. It does not rule out local, state, immigration, or supervised-release status. Federal dockets and agency records fill the gaps when the public locator does not cover the custody stage.

Federal prison custody can end with release to the community, transfer to another sovereign, or another custody event. A person may also begin a term of federal supervised release. Supervised release is a court-ordered period after incarceration and is not BOP prison custody. The federal judgment supplies those terms, while the BOP result supplies its own release date and location status.

A Wilson County Jail handoff to USMS is a transfer. A BOP record later marked released cannot exclude an ICE hold, Tennessee custody, another local jail, or federal supervision. The strongest description names the agency: “released from BOP custody on the displayed date,” followed by any verified next custodian or court-ordered supervision.

Important: “Not in BOP custody” is bounded to BOP and does not prove freedom from every other custody system.

The BOP Inmate Locator covers federal prisoners generally from 1982 to the present. Search by BOP register, DCDC, FBI, or INS number, or by name with optional age, race, and sex. Results show name, register number, identity traits, Release Date, and Location. A stable register number is safer than a common-name match.

  1. Search by federal identifier whenever one is known.
  2. For a name search, match age and other displayed identity data.
  3. Read Release Date and Location together.
  4. If a past date appears with no facility, record that BOP says the person is no longer in its custody.
  5. Check the federal judgment and later agencies before making a broader custody statement.

A future BOP date is projected and can change, including through recalculation under federal law. If the person was a USMS pretrial prisoner and never entered BOP, no BOP result may exist. The Wilson County custody search path covers the local and state checks that a federal result cannot answer.

Federal Release Records Contact

USMS manages many federal prisoners during court proceedings until sentence commitment, release, or return to another custodian. No comparable public USMS name locator was verified. For a pretrial custody event, use the Middle District docket for detention or release orders and submit a focused USMS FOIA request for physical-custody records when needed.

The USMS FOIA channel should identify the person, district, date range, and requested custody or disposition records. Privacy and law-enforcement exemptions can apply. A docket order gives durable legal context but may not timestamp when USMS completed the physical handoff or release.

Federal Custody Serving Wilson

Wilson County is within the Middle District of Tennessee. That geographic fact does not place a BOP prison in Wilson County. No federal prison was found there in the official sources reviewed. Federal defendants can be held at different sites, transferred, released before designation, or committed to BOP elsewhere. The relevant locator depends on the custody stage, not home address or charging county alone.

BOP handles sentenced and designated prisoners. USMS handles many prisoners during federal proceedings. The U.S. District Court maintains the case record. Each source answers a different question. A Wilson County Jail result can document the county-to-federal handoff, while the federal docket documents the order and BOP or USMS records document the later agency status.

Read Federal Release Results

The BOP records guide explains how to read a past release date with no facility: the person was released on that date and is no longer in BOP custody. Preserve that exact scope. A result can establish the end of federal prison custody while an ICE locator or state record shows that another agency took custody next.

Federal resultMeaning
Past Release Date, no facilityBOP says its custody ended on that date.
Future Release DateA projected BOP date that may change.
Current LocationThe BOP assignment shown by the locator.
No BOP resultMay reflect identity issues, coverage, or a USMS-only custody stage.
Federal docket release orderLegal authority or case action, not always the physical release moment.

Identity must be matched before status is repeated. Register numbers are stable. Names can collide, and optional traits can be incomplete. A release date also does not state whether supervised release followed. Read the judgment for the court-ordered term and later docket entries for changes.

Wilson Federal Court Release Records

The Middle District clerk copy route supplies case copies through PACER or by request. A useful request gives the case number or style and the exact docket item, such as a detention order, release order, judgment, or supervised-release document. The official copy page listed PACER access, clerk copy, and certification fees during research, but fees should be checked before ordering.

A court document explains why custody should change. It does not always show when transportation, identification, or an agency handoff finished. Pair the order with BOP or USMS custody data. If WCSO first held the person, the county release sheet may also name the federal receiving agency.

Note: Tennessee Public Case History is an appellate system and is not the federal Middle District docket.

Wilson Federal Custody Chain

The likely chain begins with a federal court event and USMS management. After sentence and designation, BOP may assume custody. Release from BOP can be followed by federal supervised release, an ICE handoff, or another sovereign’s custody. A person may also be released or returned to another custodian before BOP designation.

When systems conflict, compare dates and agencies. A WCSO Released result followed by a federal record often describes transfer. A BOP release followed by a current ICE result describes the end of prison custody and the start or continuation of immigration detention. Neither record should be stretched beyond its agency.

Designation
BOP’s assignment of a sentenced prisoner to an institution.
USMS custody
Federal prisoner management during many court proceedings and transfers.
Supervised release
Court-ordered federal supervision after imprisonment, distinct from BOP custody.
FOIA
A process for requesting existing federal agency records, subject to exemptions.

Request Federal Release Proof

Choose the record based on the question. Use BOP Locator for the public prison release date and location. Use the judgment for the sentence and supervised-release term. Use a detention or release order for the court’s decision. Use USMS FOIA for a physical-custody stage that never reached BOP or is not resolved by the docket.

Ask for existing records and narrow the dates. Include a register number, case number, or other stable identifier. Do not ask an agency to certify that the person is free from every system. Federal, state, county, and immigration databases do not share one universal status, so the final statement must preserve which agency supplied each fact.

Wilson Federal Transfer Evidence

A reported federal transfer from Wilson County should begin with the WCSO release sheet. Ask for the recorded release date, time, type, and destination. If it names USMS, the county record establishes that WCSO custody ended in a federal handoff. The federal docket can then show detention orders, judgment, and later release authority, while BOP or USMS supplies the agency custody layer. Preserve the register or case number with the result. Names alone are prone to collision and spelling error.

If BOP later lists a past release date and no institution, federal prison custody ended on that date. Compare the judgment for supervised release. Then check another sovereign only when the record or known sequence points there. A current ICE record after BOP release is not a conflict. It means one federal custody ended and immigration custody followed.

If no BOP record appears, do not assume the federal case never involved custody. A person held by USMS before trial may have been released, acquitted, sentenced to time served, or returned to another custodian without BOP designation. Search the Middle District docket and request USMS records. Stable identifiers and narrow dates reduce mistaken matches.

A federal court release order alone may not be enough. The order shows legal authority. The actual handoff or departure can occur later after processing and other holds. Preserve the order, the custody agency’s record, and any receiving destination as separate pieces of the same timeline.

Date Federal Release Results

Save the date on which the BOP result was checked, especially when the Release Date is still in the future. A later calculation can change. For a past event, the dated locator result and judgment give clearer federal context than an undated note that the person was simply released from every possible custody system.
